Iran sends letter to Swiss embassy on US blacklisting IRGC

Iranian Foreign Minister sent a letter to the embassy of Switzerland in Tehran announcing that in case the US enlists IRGC among terrorist groups, Iran will take countermeasures.

Iran Press/Iran news: A Parliament Member, Ali Najafi Khoshroo said that Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the US decision underlying that the act would entail serious consequences.

The Swiss embassy protects the US' interests in Iran, Iran Press reported.

US President Donald Trump has designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

This is the first time Washington formally labeled another country's military a terrorist group, RT reported.

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has a key role in fighting the US-backed terrorist groups in the region.

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is providing counselor assistance to fight the Takfiri-terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria with the official request of these countries, an action that is by no means appealing to the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

Iran's Foreign Minister said the possible listing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization will be yet another catastrophe for the United States.

Mohammad Javad Zarif said that today, Iranians from both men and women, both old and young, are all "the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps".104/202
