Iran Press/America: US President Donald Trump accused Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps of alleged financing and promoting terrorism in the region, a baseless accusation which the country strongly rejected.
This is the first time Washington formally labeled another country's military a terrorist group, RT reported.
Critics have warned that the move could open US military and intelligence officials to similar actions by unfriendly governments. The United States has already blacklisted dozens of entities and people for affiliations with the IRGC, but not the organization as a whole.
"The IRGC is the Iranian government’s primary means of directing and implementing its global terrorist campaign," Trump claimed in a statement.
The designation "makes crystal clear the risks of conducting business with, or providing support to, the IRGC," Trump said.

"If you are doing business with the IRGC, you will be bankrolling terrorism," US President claimed.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has a key role in fighting the US-backed terrorist groups in the region.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is providing counselor assistance to fight the Takfiri-terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria with the official request of these countries, an action that is by no means appealing to the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
Earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister said the possible listing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization will be yet another catastrophe for the United States.
Mohammad Javad Zarif said that today, Iranians from both men and women, both old and young, are all "the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps".
