Iran Press/ Europe: Washington Post reported on Wednesday that the Trump administration has threatened to impose tariffs on European automobile imports if Britain, France, and Germany did not formally accuse Iran of breaking the JCPOA.
The German Defence Minister who is the head of a governing CDU-led coalition did not say exactly when the threat was expressed but stressed that Germany will not support Washington’s policy of "maximum pressure" against Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday in a post on his Twitter account provided evidence of EU3’s policy of appeasement towards US President Donald Trump.
"Appeasement confirmed. E3 sold out remnants of JCPOA to avoid new Trump tariffs. It won't work, my friends. You only whet his appetite. Remember your high school bully? If you want to sell your integrity, go ahead. But do not assume high moral and legal ground. You don't have it," Zarif told the European parties to the JCPOA. The three European countries on Tuesday triggered a dispute mechanism under the nuclear deal in order to accuse Iran of violating its terms.
