US federal prosecutors in Detroit have accused an Iranian engineer of sending classified information to his brother in Iran.

Iran Press/America: A hardware engineer and visiting scholar to the University of Michigan has been indicted in a federal probe and accused of stealing confidential information. The Iranian engineer holds a permanent residence permit, or green card, from the United States 

Amin Hasanzadeh, a 42-year-old engineer from Ypsilanti was named in a 14-page complaint filed by the FBI, according to NPR.

The former Iranian military veteran is alleged to have copied and sent information to his brother in Iran, who has ties to the country's nuclear weapons industry. 

Hassanzadeh worked at a company in Detroit, dealing with the automotive and aerospace industries. According to the US police, the charges are related to the years 2015 and 2016. Amin Hassanzadeh appeared in court on Wednesday, November 5, and asked for a lawyer.101/219
