Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Election Staff announced that so far 213 have registered their names as candidates for the 14th round of the presidential election in the country.

Iran Press/Iran news:  The Spokesman of the Iranian Elections Staff said that on the last day of the registration deadline, so far 22 people were registered as candidates for the coming presidential elections, of whom one was a woman.

Mohsen Eslami announced on Monday, June 3, that so far 59 people have come to the Ministry of Interior for registration, of whom 22 fulfilled the relevant requirements. 

The registration of the candidates for the early presidential elections kicked off formally on Thursday morning in the Ministry of Interior, Tehran, and will end today until the late time determined. 

On the penultimate day of registration for Iran's snap presidential election, many top former officials were expected to register their names on the last day, such as Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf Iran's newly re-elected Parliament Speaker.

The snap presidential election is to be held on June 28 following the martyrdom of Raisi in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran on May 19.

The qualified candidates will have two weeks for campaigning before the polling on June 28.
