Iran Press/ Europe: Led by Hossein Efendi Kavazović, the head of the Islamic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this prayer brought together political, religious, and Muslim figures.
During his address, Kavazović extended warm greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and emphasized the importance of sacrifice in establishing societal values. He drew parallels to Hazrat Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice and urged everyone to follow suit.
Kavazović highlighted that those who believe in God and strive for peace are on the right path. He emphasized that God's path is not one that promotes harm toward others; instead, it encourages individuals to work toward peace, preventing violence and hostility.
Muslims constitute over half of Bosnia and Herzegovina's population of four million people. For them, Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr hold great significance as their most important religious occasions. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eid al-Adha is celebrated over a span of four days.
In Islam, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is considered to be one of the greatest men in the history of humanity. Referred to as Abraham in other monotheistic religions such as Christianity and Judaism, he is considered by many as the father of the prophets. It is to his lineage that some of the most prominent prophets mentioned to us in the Qur’an, the Bible and the Torah belong. In the Islamic faith, this includes the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The story of his sacrifice has carried across millennia and the example of his unwavering faith in Allah (SWT) continues to inspire Muslims of each generation.
As we approach another Eid al-Adha, Muslims reflect on the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and its important message.
