Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic have appointed their ambassadors to Russia.

Iran PressEurope: The head of the Luhansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik has appointed Rodion Miroshnik as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia. The corresponding decree was published on Friday on the LPR leader’s website.

“Rodion Valeryevich Miroshnik shall be appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lugansk People’s Republic in the Russian Federation,” the document reads, according to Russian state news agency TASS.

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin appointed Olga Makeeva as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia. “Olga Aleksandrovna Makeeva shall be appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Russian Federation,” the document reads.

The decrees come into force on the date of their official publication.

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance were signed with their leaders.
