Dakar (IP) - Referring to the long-standing relations between Iran and Senegal, the Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran called for the continuation and development of relations in all political, economic and parliamentary fields.

Iran PressAfrica: Ali Bagheri Kani, Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in a meeting with Amadou Mame Diop, President and Speaker of the National Assembly of Senegal, said that the initiative of holding the meeting of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa (Dakar International Forum) shows that Senegal tries to restore African identity and strengthen the independence of African countries.

Ali Bagheri Kani, the political deputy of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the 9th meeting of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa.

Referring to the role and importance of the parliamentary cooperation of Islamic countries, Bagheri called for the use of this capacity to realize the rights of the Palestinians and stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

In this meeting, Amadou Mame Diop, President and Speaker of the National Assembly of Senegal, called for the development of relations with Iran in the fields of agriculture, energy, industries, and mines.

Diop also pointed to Senegal's presidency of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and said that Dakar is steadfast in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
