Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Defense and his counterpart from the Republic of Belarus met in Tehran on Monday.

Iran PressIran News: The two ministers discussed the expansion of defense cooperation between the two countries.

Brigadier-General Mohammad-Reza Gharaei Ashtiani from Iran highlighted the global developments in recent years, stating that these changes signify a shift towards a new global landscape and international order.

Ashtiani added: "It is evident that independent nations are no longer willing to adhere to a unipolar and hierarchical system. Instead, they aspire to assume a more significant role and actively participate in global governance."

Talking about the Ukrainian war, Ashtiani said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran supports any diplomatic effort that leads to a peaceful resolution in Ukraine."

The Minister of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Khrenin, also mentioned the progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this meeting and said: This meeting will increase the opportunity of deepening relations for common goals for the two countries.
