Iran Press/America: On Friday 25 December, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez in his tweet said that despite US campaigns, Cuba is a member of the Human Rights Council, the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations Office for Project Services, and the Population Commission, also a member of the Development, Planning and Coordination Committee of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and the Implementation Committee of the Pan American Health Organization.
Last December, the UN Economic and Social Council selected Cuba to co-ordinate the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Population Fund and the United Nations Office for Project Services.
Contrary to US hostility, Cuba was also elected to the Pan American Health Organization Executive Committee and was re-elected to the UN Human Rights Council for the fifth time in October.
The election is considered by analysts as a recognition of the Caribbean's efforts to participate in the global affairs in various fields and the success of Cuban diplomacy in the face of the escalation of Washington's hostile policy. 219
