Tehran (IP)- Iran's Head of 4030 call system, Reza Mazhari said that the 4030 call system has screened a large number of coronavirus suspects since the initial days of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Iran PressIran News: Mazhari, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press, noted that the 4030 call system has been created since the first days of coronavirus outbreak in Iran and we began our work with 30 staff, but soon this number increased to 2000.

The official stated, "We are receiving many calls per day, and these calls include both medical and psychological questions; 40 percent of these questions are related to people's anxiety about COVID-19, and 40 percent are questions for increasing the awareness regarding the novel virus.

"This center could decrease people's reference to the hospital.", he highlighted.

"We have registered over 700,000 calls on initial days, but now the number has decreased due to people's awareness about the disease, and the type of questions have changed to include more specific ones", he added.

Head of 4030 call system went on to say that there are two types of calls in this center; one is in-calls which we receive people's questions. The other one is out-calls in which we call the families and screen them regarding the coronavirus. Through this method, as the Health Ministry says, we have screened more than 70 million people in our country.

The Coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, was detected late last year (2019) in Wuhan, China. Currently, all countries in the world are involved in the fight against the virus.

In Iran, more than 70,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus so far, and about 42,000 have been recovered.
