Yemen (IP) - Some Yemeni figures declared the continuation of the siege of the country as a war against the nation.

Iran PressMiddle East: Thousands of Yemenis demonstrated on Friday evening in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, chanting "siege is war" and condemning the Saudi coalition for the siege.

Demonstrators asked the Yemeni National Salvation Government to choose various options, including the military option, to respond to the continuation of the blockade of the country by the Saudi coalition.

Yemenis believe that the Saudi coalition is not serious about establishing a ceasefire and ending the siege, and children and women will suffer in this way. Angry Yemeni people set fire to American flags during the demonstration in Sana'a and chanted death to America and the Saudi regime.

America supports the Saudi coalition in the continuation of the blockade of Yemen.

Editor-in-chief of Al-Thawra newspaper, Abdul Rahman Al-Ahnoumi, in an interview with IranPress, said that the necessary options should be on the agenda to deal with the siege. It is a war with the people of Yemen.

Khalid Al-Madani, one of the officials of the Ansarullah Movement, also said the Yemeni leadership has declared that the continuation of the siege cannot be tolerated.

Mohammed Haydareh, Deputy Minister of Culture of the National Salvation Government, also in an interview with IranPress in Sana'a, said that the huge turnout of Yemenis to condemn the blockade has this message for the world: "The hand that has surrounded the Yemeni people, will cut off."

With the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia has carried out the military invasion of Yemen since March 2015 and blockaded the country by land, sea, and air.

As the blockade of Yemen continues, more than two million children are malnourished and more than 17 million, including 9 million children, suffer from a lack of water, sanitation, and health services.
