Iran (IP) - Iran's President stated that the relations between Iran and Oman have been upgraded from the commercial stage to the investment one.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, on Sunday afternoon, during the visit of  Haitham Bin Tariq Al Saeid, Sultan of Oman, at the joint meeting of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries, stated that Tehran and Muscat share common views on regional cooperation, security, peace and the welfare of the nations of the region.

He added: "The relations between the two countries have reached the investment stage and the joint viewpoints and approach for regional convergence of the two countries' leaders along with proper capacities can broaden their cooperation at bilateral and regional levels.

Omani Sultan Haitham’s visit to Tehran, which comes at the invitation of President Raisi, marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the two regional allies.

Raisi, also pointing to the common positions of the two countries concerning Yemen and Palestine, appreciated the role of Oman and especially Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in trying to secure the rights of the Yemeni people and the Palestinians.

Sultan of Oman: "We are still far from the desired level of relations"

In this meeting, Haitham bin Tariq Al Saeid, the Sultan of Oman, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome of the Iranian President.

He added: "After Raisi's visit to Oman last year, the level of bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two countries has improved significantly, and the volume of trade exchanges has doubled, however, considering the capacities and diverse of the two countries, we are still far from the desired level of relations."

Haitham bin Tariq Al Saeid enphasized that both sides must flourish these capacities with more effort.

As many as four cooperation agreements in the fields of economy, investment, and energy are expected to be signed during the landmark visit.

The agreements are set to further strengthen the economic ties between Iran and Oman, paving the way for more joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
