Bauchi(IP)- At least 20 people have been killed while the terrorist bandits burned many houses in Nigeria Duguri-Gwana District, Alkaleri local government Area of Bauchi State on Friday.

Iran Press/Africa: On Saturday, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir, and a group of journalists were escorted by security forces to the affected areas in North Eastern Nigeria, where the whole communities deserted their homes to towns, 200 kilometers for their lives.

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Amin Alhassan said the bandit's attack occurred on Friday. When the combined security arrived at Duguri-Gwana District villages, they met houses in a fire set by the terrorists. The terrorist left the area after a gun battle, but the security forces shot and captured one of them.

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir who led the convoy to the affected villages in Duguri-Gwana District said he had given a "shoot at sight order" to the security forces against the terrorist bandits. "Any bandit seen around here, with the combined security of police, the State Security Services, and the Banga Local security, should take care of them. This is because we are not going to waste our people just like that. We lost 12 people and the houses were burnt. Some people were burned alive by the terrorists." said the Governor.

One of the residents of Alkaleri Local Government Area said more than 20 people had been killed, and houses and properties were set ablaze by the terrorists.

Over the past two years, insecurity challenges especially, Banditry have forced more than one million people in the Northwestern States of Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina to desert their homes, while more than 100,000 have fled across the border to the Niger Republic.
