The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the 77th high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, responded decisively to the claim of the Minister of International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, regarding the Iranian islands.

Iran PressAmerica: In the speech delivered by the representative of Iran, Peyman Ghadirkhami, the second secretary of the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New York, it is stated: "The claims of this Emirati official and the repetition of these baseless claims regarding Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf are an explicit aggression towards Iran's territorial integrity."

He emphasized that the three islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs were and are an inseparable part of Iran's territory, and Iran asserts its sovereignty over these islands, any claim contrary to this is decisively rejected."

Peyman Ghadirkhami said: It is necessary to emphasize that based on the historical facts established years before the establishment of the United Arab Emirates, these islands were Iranian, are Iranian, and will remain Iranian."

Iranian diplomat added: "It is also necessary to remember that the word "Persian Gulf" has been the only name used for the sea between the Arabian Peninsula and the Iranian plateau since 500 years before Christ, and this gulf will remain with the same name forever." 219
