Tehran (IP)- During a meeting with his Armenian counterpart, the Iranian parliament's speaker said that the trade between the two countries should increase from $ 500 million to several billion dollars.

Iran PressIran news: The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Roberti Simonyan, accompanying the President of Armenia in visiting Tehran, met with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Wednesday.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in the meeting: "Removing bureaucratic obstacles can benefit Armenia from Iran's engineering services to create transportation routes."

"The 21th century is the century of Asia," Ghalibaf said. "Today, all economic, production, population, technological and military components have changed, including the situation in the Middle East and Eurasia, and the Russia-Ukraine war has exacerbated these developments."

Ghalibaf noted that the Zionist regime and the United States are pursuing their interests in the region and disrupting regional security, so neighboring countries should be careful.

Referring to the depth of relations between the two countries, which is based on mutual friendship and culture, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Roberti Simonyan, said: "The 44-day war (between the Republic of Armenian and Rep. of Azerbaijan) had many consequences for Yerevan. We must appreciate the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support of Armenia's territorial integrity during the war, said Simonyan.
