Tehran (IP)- The Foreign Ministry of Iran slammed as “interfering and worthless” the French Foreign Ministry’s stance on the IAEA’s recent report on Iranian nuclear activity, saying such hasty and politically-motivated views ignore Tehran’s constructive cooperation with the UN nuclear agency.

Iran PressIran News: In a statement released on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh deplored the French Foreign Ministry’s stance in reference to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s most recent report about Iran.

In a public statement on Tuesday, France’s Foreign Ministry called on Iran to answer the IAEA queries after the contents of an IAEA report on Tehran’s nuclear activities were allegedly leaked to the media on Monday. France has also encouraged Iran to respond to questions from the UN nuclear agency on its prior nuclear activity as soon as possible.

In response, Khatibzadeh reiterated that while the IAEA’s new report does not reflect the reality of Iran’s interaction with the UN nuclear watchdog at all, France’s “hasty and politically-oriented” comments that have totally ignored Iran’s extensive and constructive technical cooperation with the IAEA are “interfering and worthless.”

“The format and nature of such (French) comments and measures that are made as part of psychological operations to prepare the ground for exerting pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran ahead of the meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors are absolutely familiar to us,” Khatibzadeh said.

Khatibzadeh said the fact that such statements are issued concurrently and in concert with the recent moves by the fake Zionist regime makes the footprints of the regime more noticeable than ever.

Khatibzadeh stated: “Just as we have advised the IAEA, we recommend it to keep moving on the path of technical cooperation, we also recommend countries like France to avoid stances and interferences that could derail such cooperation.”

He added that France must also fulfill its safeguards commitments to nuclear disarmament and hold the apartheid Israeli regime accountable for possessing hundreds of nuclear warheads.

Khatibzadeh underlined that Iran’s nuclear program is purely peaceful, and Iran will naturally respond to any unconstructive move at the Board of Governors firmly and appropriately and those who view the board and the report of the agency’s director-general as leverage for pressure and a tool for political games against Iran will be responsible for its consequences.
