Tehran (IP) - Addressing Islamic countries, the Iranian Minister of Defence called for unity with greater amity and solidarity against plots and conspiracies of the western powers.

Iran PressIran news: In a congratulatory message sent to his counterparts in Islamic countries on Eid al-Fitr, Brigadier-General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani reiterated that it is necessary for the Islamic states to unite in the face of the hegemonic powers' ploys through collaboration and closer solidarity.

He underlined the need for strengthening relations, increasing interaction and friendship between the Armed Forces of the Islamic countries.

The Iranian defence minister hailed Eid al-Fitr as an opportunity to materialize solidarity and strengthen social and humanitarian bonds among Muslims and for close integration to achieve peace and friendship.

General Ashtiani also warned against Islamophobia and terrorism waged by global imperialism and called for Muslim unity to thwart them.

He expressed hope that the auspicious Islamic festivity would result in unity and amity among Muslim nations and promote their defense cooperation.
