 Iran PressEurope: According to a Russian military official, Gen. Andrei Sukhovsky, the deputy commander of the 41st Russian Army, was killed during a clash with Ukrainian forces on Friday morning.

His death has not yet been officially confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry, but one of his colleagues on social media, Sergey Chipiliov, has said he was killed, and the news has been widely reported in several Russian and Ukrainian media.

A military source said Andrei Sukhovsky had been killed by a sniper.
