Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran wrote in his latest tweeter account that the crisis in Ukraine is rooted in the provocative actions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

Iran PressIran news: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday morning ordered the launch of a special military operation to protect the Donbas region.

Putin warned that the Ukrainian government would be responsible for any possible bloodshed.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tweeted on Thursday: "The #Ukraine crisis is rooted in NATO's provocations."

"We don't believe that resorting to war is a solution," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian added.

"Imperative to establish ceasefire & to find a political and democratic resolution," Amir- Abdollahian concluded

Russian military operations have begun in various parts of Ukraine, and the Russian Defense Ministry has stated that only Ukrainian military infrastructure and military airports will be targeted and that Russian cities will not be bombed.
