Tehran (IP) - The Deputy for International Affairs of Iran's Judiciary Kazem Gharibabadi said the first meeting of the Joint Committee between Iran and Iraq on the inquiry and investigation of the terrorist attack against Martyrs Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and their companions concluded its work by signing a joint statement.

Iran PressIran News: Kazem Gharibabadi said: "Both sides recognized that the crime was committed during the official visit of Lt. Gen. Soleimani to Iraq, condemning the crime as a serious crime which violated the national sovereignty of Iraq and rules of international law and human rights."

"They stressed the necessity to combat the impunity of the perpetrators and bring them to justice. 5 agreements: to take all possible legal and judicial measures to prosecute and punish all those involved in the crime, particularly US agents and nationals involved," Gharibabadi tweeted.

"To continue and enhance bilateral cooperation for completing ongoing judicial investigation; to utilize all available capacities to provide and complete the required information," he added.

"The JIC shall continue its work in two countries to ensure completion of the information required for judicial investigation at the earliest time; the next meeting of the JIC will be held in Tehran within one month," the thread reads.
