Iran Press/ Iran news: At the opening ceremony, the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), Hamid Shahriyari, summarized the causes of division in the Islamic Ummah.
According to Shahriari, US policy is the first and most crucial factor of division in West Asia. The puppet leaders in some Muslim countries are the second. The third is the differences and divisions that the United States has created among Muslims.
Secretary-General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought denounced the world arrogant powers for the constant endeavor to spark war in the Middle East to justify its presence and loot the Islamic countries.
"Arrogant powers struggle to justify presence in region," said Shahriari.
Shahriari expressed regret over the bloodshed and war in the Islamic world, stressing that as the reason for naming the annual event for 2021 as "Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
He counted the issues challenging the world of Islam as puppet leaders who have provided the grounds for oppressors in the Islamic countries to facilitate the normalization of Israel's relations with Muslim states and vast disputes in denominational beliefs.

The cleric also warned of betrayal by followers of some denominations who spread violence, lack of democratic theocracy, tribal and sectarian views, the pursuit of prejudice, aggressive groups and parties in some Islamic countries, and also promoting misconceptions to guarantee political interests, among other predicaments for the world of Islam.
SG. enumerated his proposals for the issues challenging the Muslim world as resistance against the world by creating a solid-state and economic system to stand against arrogant powers and ending dependence upon oppressive governments.
His other proposals were maintaining the framework for disagreement among Islamic denominations, revealing the measures by arrogant powers and pursuit of the rights of the Muslim nations, eliminating sectarianism, and healthy rivalry.
Over 500 Muslim scholars, intellectuals, and religious figures attended the 35th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference, held virtually due to COVID-19 circumstances. World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has decided to keep the 35th event on the theme of "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has scheduled the 35th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference for October 19-24 ending with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), also known as the Islamic Unity Week.
