Washington (IP) - The US Treasury Department removed sanctions on the Iranian Mammut Industrial Group and its subsidiary companies from the sanction list.

Iran PressAmerica: "MAMMUT INDUSTRIAL GROUP P.J.S.," "MAMMUT TEHRAN INDUSTRIAL GROUP," "MAMMUT INDUSTRIES," "MAMMUT DIESEL" and "MAMMUT DIESEL COMPANY" were removed from the US government blocklist on Friday, according to a press release from the Treasury Department.

Mammut Industrial Group and its subsidiary companies as private companies with thousands of employees in Iran were alleged by the US to have supplied "military-grade, dual-use goods" to Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization and, specifically, Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group.

Mammut Industrial Group and its subsidiary companies were sanctioned in September 2020.

On 2 July 2021, the United States Treasury Department removed sanctions on three Iranians while saying this was unrelated to talks in Vienna to restore Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

According to the US Treasury statement at the time, Behzad Daniel Ferdows, Mehrzad Manuel Ferdows, and Mohammad-Reza Dezfulian were all excluded from the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The Treasury Department under US President Joe Biden also removed some Iranian citizens from the designated nationals list in June, according to a department document specifying all changes to the list in 2021.
