PIJ: Resistance struggle to lift Gaza siege persists

Middle East (IP) - A member of the political bureau of the Islamic Jihad movement said the resistance was still working to lift the siege of Gaza and would not surrender to Israel.

Iran PressMiddle East: "The Zionists are trying to divert the Palestinian struggle after Operation Sword of Quds, while the armed struggle is a national issue and will continue," said Walid Qitati, a member of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement.

Qitati added that the Palestinian people have considered armed resistance as a way to improve their living conditions, especially in Gaza.

The Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip have increased in recent days, with a number of Palestinians being shot dead by the Israeli militants and dozens more wounded.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Saturday called for the expeditious trial of the International Court of Justice in The Hague to investigate the Israeli regime's crimes in the occupied territories.

The Gaza Strip has been under the Israeli land, air, and sea siege since 2006, and its inhabitants face many problems.
