Tehran (IP) - In a message, President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated Sajjad Ganjzadeh on his Gold Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and wished success to the karate champion.

Iran PressIran news: The President expressed hope that this athlete would achieve more success in sports.

On Saturday, the Iranian heavyweight karateka, Sajjad Ganjzadeh, won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal, gaining referees' approval on Saudi Arabia's Hamdi disqualification.

Iran's sports team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics ended up with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

Earlier, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, congratulated the Iranian sports convoy in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as they tried to make the nation happy.

The Iranian athletes started the Olympics with Javad Foroughi's gold in shooting and ended with Ganjzadeh's gold in karate competitions.

Javad Foroughi in shooting, Mohammad Reza Geraei in Greco-Roman wrestling, and Sajjad Ganjzadeh in karate brought gold medals for Iran. 

Ali Davoudi and Hassan Yazdani snatched silver medals, respectively, in weightlifting and freestyle wrestling. 

The two bronze medals also were bagged by Mohammad Hadi Saravi in Greco-Roman wrestling and Amirhossein Zare in freestyle wrestling. 

With these results, Iran's sports caravan emerged 27th in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics ranking table of medals. 

China, the US, and Japan were ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics ranking table of medals.
