Tehran (IP) - The new President of the Islamic Republic of Iran says that firm steps will be taken to expand the close cooperation of Tehran-Dhaka in the new era.

Iran PressIran news: Receiving Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam on Friday, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said: "We have a serious will for the serious development of the relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in the economic field, and we consider the utilization of the existing capacities in the interest of the welfare and progress of the two nations."

Raisi said Iran would welcome the two countries' cooperation and joint investments aimed at the expansion of the bilateral ties. He appreciated Bangladesh's hosting of displaced Myanmar's people and expressed hope that Dhaka uses its utmost capacities for the freedom of the oppressed people of Myanmar. 

Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam for his part said his country wanted Iran's participation in its economic development.
