Expansion of Iran-Turkey ties leads to countries' policy success: Raisi

Tehran (IP) – Iran's new President said that the success of Iran-Turkey neighborliness policy depends on deepening bilateral ties in different arenas.

Iran PressIran news: Receiving the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop on Thursday, Ebrahim Raisi said: "The success of good neighborliness policy requires the development and deepening of bilateral ties between Iran and Turkey".

Mustafa Sentop, for his part, congratulated Raisi as the new President of Iran and wished him success on behalf of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The relations between Iran and Turkey are beyond good bilateral relations and are very important for the realization of peace in the international arena,” Sentop said.

He also expressed hope that with the forthcoming meeting of the Supreme Council of Cooperation between Iran and Turkey, a big step would be taken towards the promotion of cooperation between the two countries.

The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey expressed concern over the developments in Afghanistan, noting that the lack of proper progress in the peace talks in Afghanistan created a security vacuum in the country; therefore, Iran and Turkey should strengthen their cooperation to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan.
