Thousands of opponents of the war and Zionism and supporters of peace and Palestine demonstrated in front of the British Prime Minister's Office.

Iran Press/Europe: The angry protesters called for the UK government to take action on the attacks by Israel on Gaza and al-Aqsa Mosque.

A large number of prominent anti-war figures and representatives of political and trade union organizations spoke at the mass demonstrations.

"This is the beginning of a new and great movement," said Lindsey German, a senior member of the British Anti-War Coalition and one of the keynote speakers at the anti-Zionist rally in front of 10 Downing Street.

He added: "The most important feature of this new movement is the resistance of the Palestinian people against oppression and occupation, and we have a duty to support this resistance."

"Against the will of the people, a number of Arab and Western regimes support the Israeli regime, which must be stopped," German said.

A significant number of Jewish youth and rabbis also condemned Western support, especially from the United States and Britain, for Israel, which is killing the Palestinian people.
