Damascus (IP) - Iran’s foreign minister stresses that his country welcomes cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the Arab world to maintain peace and stability in Yemen.

Iran Press/Middle East: "We hope to have sincere cooperation with Saudi Arabia to bring peace and stability to Yemen," said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Damascus on Wednesday.

Zarif pointed to his meetings with Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mikdad and stressed that the coming Syrian election was a common issue of Iran and Syria, which was of importance for the Arab country’s peace, security, and progress.

Zarif also reported the opening of Iran’s Consulate-General in Aleppo with the agreement of Syria’s President and Foreign Minister.

He pointed to the Palestinian issue and said the breaking of the Zionist regime’s hegemony, as well as its crimes and the support of the international community for the Palestinian people, were consulted with the Syrian authorities.

Zarif stressed that the Israeli regime's aggression would be confronted with resistance and that it was the duty of the international community to intervene to prevent the Zionist regime from continuing its aggression.
