Resistance Front determined to end oppression of Palestine: Senior cleric

Qom (IP) - Head of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom says today; the Resistance Front is determined to end Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview with Iran Press on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Second International Congress of Holy Quds, held via videoconferencing, Ayatollah Hashem Hosseini-Bushehri pointed to the origins of the announcement of the International Quds Day by the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA).

“Imam  Khomeini had two concerns; one was the issue of the country and the people of Iran, who were under the boots of the tyranny of the time (the Pahlavi regime), and he tried to reach a day when people could feel free and be in peace, and we saw that the slogan of independence, freedom and the Islamic Republic was realized in Iran [after the victory of the Islamic Revolution],” he said.

“Another concern of Imam was the Islamic world in general and Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular. One of the Imam's serious concerns was why Palestinian Muslims should be displaced and why Israel should be able to penetrate Islamic society like a cancerous tumor,” the senior Iranian cleric added.

“As time goes on and as the resistance front unites, Israel will become weaker, and according to God's promise, we will see the end of the occupying regime,” Ayatollah Hosseini-Bushehri stressed.

“What delayed the end of the Israeli regime was that some sold themselves to the world arrogance, but the Palestinians did not give up the fight and saw that the Resistance Front and Iran were supporting them,” he noted.

“Today, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen are determined to end the oppression of the Palestinian people by the Zionist regime and for the people to return to their homeland and continue on their living in peace as an Islamic country," He added.

"We believe that this victory is near,” the Head of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom concluded.

The Second International Congress of Holy Quds started on Tuesday in the videoconference format with the slogan of “al-Quds is closest,” with the attendance of national and international figures from different countries.

Thirty national and international figures from Iran, Palestine, Malaysia, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, France, Argentina, Iraq, Turkey, Chile, UAE, Lebanon, Syria, Britain, Canada, and Tunisia, have attended the two-day conference.
