A specialized seminar 'Introducing Iranian Nowruz' was held in Japan with the participation of culture advocates.

Iran Press/Asia: The seminar was held on Saturday by the Cultural Attache Office of the Iranian Embassy in Japan and along with the special Nowruz programs in the presence of more than 90 Japanese enthusiasts and advocates of culture.

Nowruz is the Iranians' ancient spring holiday that dates back to more than 3,000 years ago.

Nowruz was registered as a cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2009 and was recognized by the United Nations in 2010 as International Nowruz Day.

Nowruz is celebrated not only in Iran but also in some other countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. 219
