A Boeing 777 passenger plane engine exploded and caught fire minutes after taking off from an airport in Colorado and fragments of the engine fuselage fell in residential areas.

Iran Press/America: The plane, carrying 231 passengers and 10 crew members, returned to the airport safely for an emergency landing, with no reports of anyone hurt, NBC reported on its website.

A video on social media showed a cloud of black smoke being left by a plane.
