Tehran (IP) - CEO of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) announced that the production of 83 types of indigenous vessels required for Iran's commercial ports would begin by September 2021.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Mohammad Rastad stated that over 90% of Iran's exports and imports were done through commercial ports.

He noted that given the importance of commercial ports and in addition to the development of port infrastructure, it was necessary to improve marine equipment so that commercial ports could provide maximum capacity and quality services.

Rastad pointed out that as much as Iran's commercial ports were strengthened in terms of equipment and infrastructure, this would significantly impact Iran's maritime trade and competition with other commercial ports.
