Tehran (IP): The Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that the Iranian Armed Forces are on full alert in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Iran PressIran news: Rear-Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy, on the fifth anniversary of the arrest of American sailors trespassing on the country’s territorial waters, added: " Any attempt to violate the Islamic Republic of Iran’s territories will be faced with a rapid reaction.”

The IRGC navy commander stated: "The IRGC and the Iranian Army's naval forces are present in the Persian Gulf, and this presence extends from the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean."

On January 12, 2016, IRGC naval forces arrested 10 US sailors who had entered the Iranian territorial waters on two U.S. Navy boats without permission and illegally a few kilometers from the Farsi island. They were released the next day after being held for about 15 hours.
