The leadership of the Popular Mobilization Forces (Al-Hashd al-Shaabi) assigned a former head of operations to the position of Secretary-General of the organization.

Iran Press/Middle East: Tahseen Matar Al-Aboudi (Abu Muntadhar Al-Husseini) was previously in charge of the Al-Hashd al-Shaabi operation in the fight for Iraq's liberation against the terrorist group ISIL attack in 2014.

According to the al-hashed website, Al-Aboudi graduated from the Iraqi War College in 1981 and holds a law degree from Baghdad University. 

He worked as a security advisor at the Ministry of the Interior in 2005 and a member of the National Assembly at that time. He also served as a member of the Security and Defense Committee in the House of Representatives, the first session, and an assistant to the Accountability and Justice Committee until 2010.

Al-Aboudi has dozens of studies and research in the military and security fields, and he has participated in many conferences and seminars inside and outside Iraq.
