Tehran (IP)– The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) drilled 82 oil and gas wells over the course of the first 8 months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, Shana reported.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to NIDC, Saeed Akbari, head of the company's drilling operations, said: "Of these, 23 were development/appraisal wells, 57 were workovers, and two were exploratory wells."

He added 63 of the wells were spudded in the operational scope of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), seven in fields operated by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, seven for the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, two for the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, one in the form of a project and two were drilled and completed in the exploration management projects of the National Iranian Oil Company.

The Deputy Head of Drilling Operations at NIDC further stated: “From March 21 to November 20, as a result of continuous and effective cooperation and interaction between the company's specialists and employer companies, drilling operations and completion of 14 wells were achieved 256 days earlier than planned.”

Akbari stated that the company’s fleets had drilled 45,406 meters during the period, adding this company has the largest drilling fleet in the country and the region with 70 light, heavy, and super heavy drilling rigs for offshore and onshore operations.
