Iran's special envoy arrives in Kabul

The Iranian embassy in Kabul announced that Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard, the special envoy of Iran's foreign minister for Afghanistan, had arrived in Kabul to discuss recent developments in the region with senior Afghan government officials.

Iran PressAsia: The visit comes as the 5th round of Iran-Afghanistan strategic cooperation talks was held in Tehran on Sunday (November 15th).

This document covers the perspective of long-term relations between the two countries in the political, security, economic, cultural, and national issues and water issue.

Iran has always and explicitly supported the start of negotiations between the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban.

Tehran has emphasized its readiness to advance a lasting peace process in the country.
