Tehran (IP) - The Iranian President emphasized on the continuation and strengthening of cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan.

Iran PressIran news: Masoud Pezeshkian in a message to his Ozbek counterpart, Shaukat Mir Ziayev, congratulated this country on its independence anniversary and stated that the development of cooperation with neighboring countries and the region, especially the Republic of Uzbekistan, is the priority of the foreign policy of the 14th government of Iran.

Iran recognized the independence of Uzbekistan on December 25, 1991, and political relations between the two countries were established on May 10, 1992.
Recently, the President of Iran, in his meeting with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Uzbekistan, Nuruddin Ismailjanov, emphasized the importance of the position of the neighbors in Iran's foreign policy and called the relations between the two countries rooted, strategic, and based on deep cultural and historical ties.
Pezeshkian added that the government of Iran in the new period is determined to strengthen and improve relations with Uzbekistan, especially in the commercial and economic sector and cultural communication, and in this direction, no obstacle can create a disturbance in the will of the two countries.
