Tehran (IP): Acting foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran had a telephone call with his Algerian counterpart over the latest developments in the Gaza war and the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza including Rafah as well as the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Algeria.

Iran Press/Iran news: Acting foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Bagheri held talks with Algeria's Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf over the latest developments in the Gaza war and the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza including Rafah as well as the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Algeria.

Bagheri appreciated the kind messages of the president, foreign minister, and other officials of Algeria on the martyrdom of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, late Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and other martyrs. He appreciated a visit by the Algerian parliament speaker to Tehran to attend the memorial ceremony held for those martyred in the line of duty.

Elsewhere in this conversation, the Iranian acting foreign minister referred to the recent barbaric attacks by the Zionists on the tents of Palestinian refugees in Rafah city, which martyred a large number of innocent and oppressed Palestinian women and children.

He said the atrocities add another page to the thick record of the crimes of this bloodthirsty regime.

Bagheri further thanked the Algerian government for its efforts and initiative to present a draft resolution to stop the attacks of the Zionist regime at the UN Security Council on behalf of the Islamic countries. He stressed the need for urgent and joint action by the Muslim countries to stop the crimes of the occupying regime against the Palestinian people and to increase aid deliveries to the oppressed residents of Gaza.

So he proposed holding an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was welcomed by the Algerian foreign minister.

Bagheri also underscored the necessity of pursuing the agreements signed by Tehran and Algiers during the trip by late Iranian president Raisi to Algeria last year.

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, in turn, once again offered condolences and sympathies over the martyrdom of President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian, and other martyrs.

He stressed Algeria's commitment to follow up on the issues that are on the agenda of bilateral relations, including the agreements made during the recent visit by the late president to the North African nation.

Attaf then pointed to the attacks of the Zionist regime on the city of Rafah, which stopped the humanitarian aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip, and also to the previous efforts by Algeria to support the Palestinian people and provide aid to the helpless residents of Gaza.

Attaf welcomed any collective and urgent initiative by Islamic countries to achieve a ceasefire and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
