Five people killed in a shooting in Toronto, Canada

Five members of a family were killed in a shooting at a house near Toronto, Canada, police said.

Iran PressAmerica: All the victims of the shooting, including two children, are members of the same family, and the suspect in the shooting was shot dead, Oshawa City Police Department near Toronto said Saturday.

Police have found a 50-year-old woman who was injured in the shooting.

According to Oshawa police, the investigation is in the early stages and the motive of the shooter as murder or suicide is unknown and no other suspect has been identified in connection with the incident.

Police have not yet released a report on the type of weapon used in the shooting in Oshawa.

Firearm violence in Canada has been on the rise since 2017.

The May 2020 massacre in Nova Scotia, with several dead and wounded, has been called the bloodiest shooting in Canadian history.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has passed a bill to ban more weapons after the Nova Scotia massacre.
