Destroying Iran nuclear deal by US is a return to law of the jungle: Zarif

Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that allowing the United States to completely destroy the Iran nuclear deal is a return to the law of the jungle.

Iran Press/Iran News: Mohammad Javad Zarif in an article published in the French newspaper Le Monde wrote: "The US government is trying to destroy what remains of multilateralism and international law by destroying the Iran nuclear deal (2015)."

"The flexibility and unpredictability of the United States have nothing to do with the implementation of game theory," he said. "The country has no plans other than to blindly attack anyone who defends the rule of law," Zarif added.

Stating that Iran is the country that is the target of the most vicious and blindly imposed sanctions, Zarif added: "The US administration does not offer any prospects for the future of the international community and its reaction to UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is a clear example of US wrongdoing."

The United States seeks to extend arms embargo on Iran. The sanctions are set to end in October under Security Council Resolution 2231.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's commitments under the JCPOA, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
