Zarif asks UAE to think about regional stability

Tehran (IP) - Iranian foreign minister told his Emirati counterpart that some may take advantage of the current situation to destabilize the region, but the two countries as neighbors must think about the stability of the region.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks on Sunday at a meeting with the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, held a video conference, discussing bilateral cooperation and common regional issues.

In this conversation, the two sides reaffirmed their readiness to develop cooperation in various fields in the common interest.

Recalling the sensitive situation in the region, Zarif stressed the need for dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, saying: "Others may take advantage of the current situation to destabilize the region, but we as neighbors must think about the stability of the region."

The UAE side also called for cooperation between Iran and the UAE in the region and stressed the need to continue consultations between the two countries and turn challenges into opportunities.
