White supremacists statues are being taken down by anti-racism protesters

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets around the world on Wednesday to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement, with protesters venting their anger at the colonial history by toppling statues of 17th-century white supremacists and slave traders.

From King Leopold II to Winston Churchill, statues of white supremacists are being taken down and defaced by anti-racism protesters.

Protests continue after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed in the US police custody.
