Tabriz (IP) - Gurigol international wetland (Lake) is located 45 km from the city of Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: The wetland is one of the touristic attractions of East Azarbaijan Province and is located on the transit route from Tabriz to Bostanabad, which hosts tourists and nature lovers.

The lake, which is on the edge of extinction, is one of the international wetlands registered in the Ramsar Convention.

Every year, Gurigol Lake welcomes a large number of protected and migrant waterfowls, including endangered species such as white-headed ducks, oak ducks, and marbled ducks.

So far, more than 90 species of birds have been identified in the Gurigol international wetland, and the population of the birds observed is between 3,500 and 4,000 in the area of this wetland.
