The ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, proposed IAEA Board of Governors to respect physicians and nurses.

Iran Press/ Europe: The Representatives of the countries in Geneva paid tribute to the victims of COVID-19 with a minute of silence, which was first proposed by Iran’s ambassador to Geneva Esmail Baghayie Hamane, was also aimed at appreciating the sacrifice of the medical staff as well.

Coronavirus spread in a few cities in Iran. It started on February 19, 2020, when the Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Education reported that a number of citizens had been infected with the Coronavirus in Qom province.

The Coronavirus first emerged in China late last year and is now spreading in Europe, the Americas and across the Middle East, sparking fears of a global pandemic.
