Kerman (IP) - Iran's Judiciary Chief said that a case has been filed in the Tehran prosecutor's office regarding the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and some judges have been assigned to pursue the case in cooperation with the International Affairs Department of Judiciary and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Iran PressIran news: "This will be done in cooperation with the supreme judicial officials in Iraq, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi told reporters at Kerman International Airport on Sunday.

He added that certainly, Martyr Qasem Soleimani will be avenged.

Iran's Judiciary Chief added that the world knows Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani as a symbol of the fight against terrorism, adding: "Today, more than ever, public hatred of America has arisen in the world."

Raisi arrived at Kerman province on Sunday morning to hold meetings with judges and judicial staff of the southeastern city in Iran.

The official also paid tribute to Martyr Soleimani by going to the Martyrs Cemetery of Kerman. 

He is scheduled to attend and deliver a speech at the ceremony to commemorate the 40th-day memorial of Lt. Gen. Soleimani in Kerman.

The late Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGCLieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US drone attack in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, along with the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis as well as eight companions.
