Birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH) is designated as national Women and Mothers Day in Iran.

Tehran (IP) - Iran's President, Hassan Rouhani attended the meeting of Women's Day, delivering a keynote speech.

Iran Press/Iran news: The second meeting of the National Headquarters for Women and Family Affairs was held on Saturday with President Rouhani taking part.

The meeting of Iranian women on the occasion of Hazrat Fatemeh (PBUH) birthday and Women's day has just begun with the president addressing the summit.

At the session that was held on the birthday of Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra and Women’s Day, the proposals of the headquarters were discussed.

During the meeting, Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Dr Masoumeh Ebtekar presented a report on the progress on implementing previous decisions made, including sexual justice indices and vitality in women and girls, The Presidential Website reported.

The ceremony marking National Women's Day was held on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her). For Muslims, Hazrat Fatemeh is an inspiring example and the name Fatemeh is one of the most popular girl’s names throughout the Muslim world.

Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her) is a vital character in the religion of Islam and is considered a role model for all Muslim women.
