Sistan and Baluchestan (IP) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society, Army, IRGC and the Basij volunteer aid forces, as well as other governmental organizations, have taken a big role in the rescue and relief efforts across the areas hit by floods in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Iran PressIran news: Heavy rains since Thursday 9 January have affected almost all southern provinces of the country, especially Sistan and Baluchestan, causing damages to homes, farms, agricultural facilities, roads, and infrastructure.

At least 1,248 people trapped by the floods were rescued in some 40 towns and villages throughout Sistan and Baluchestan.

The unprecedented flash floods have hit 350 villages in recent days, damaging thousands of residential buildings.
