Lavash bread connecting Iranian, Armenian peoples

Many cultural elements connect the peoples of Iran and Armenia, one of which which is the culture of bread consumption. Bread in Iran is one of the main parts of the marriage table, and in Armenia, the bride and groom have to put bread on their shoulders.

Iranians have a proverb that goes "when you eat bread and salt with somebody, you have to be loyal to him", and in Armenia, the guest will be served with bread and salt so that this principle is not forgotten.

The value of bread and salt among Armenians is to the extent that they swear by the bread and salt they eat together.

Lavash is the oldest and most popular of Iranian and Armenian bread. Therefore, the common baking culture of Lavash was listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Iran and Armenia in UNESCO accordingly.

"In Iran and Armenia, this bread is called Lavash or ?????, and in Iran where bread is cooked it is called Tanoor and in Armenia, it is called Tonir".

Eating bread in Iranian and Armenian cultures has a wider meaning than nutrition, and is a spiritual value. There is a 65-meter monument in Yerevan called the Golden Wheat seed, a small grain that reminds us of the high value of bread.

For a country like Armenia, which has experienced both war and famine and hunger, bread is not only a symbol of prosperity and blessing, but it is also a symbol of spiritual values.
