A member of the cultural commission of the Iranian parliament (Majlis) has asked how long should Iran wait for Europe to honour its promises and obligations under JCPOA.

Iran Press/Iran news: Member of the Cultural Commission of Iranian parliament (Majlis), Alireza Ebrahimi, speaking on the US withdrawal from JCPOA, said the US has proven over and over again its lack of commitment to international treaties that it has signed, its disrespect for international law, and its failure to honour its promises.

Ebrahimi added America's withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal was despite the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran had honoured all of its commitments and obligations under the agreement.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Alireza Ebrahimi said: "After marathon negotiations which lasted years a political agreement was finally reached and the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) was signed."

"The US, however, unilaterally left the deal last May, and showed its lack of commitment to international structures," he continued.

The Iranian MP added: "Today, a year after the US withdrawal from JCPOA, Europe has not managed to honour all of its commitments , and it looks as if the Europeans are also affected by Trump and the arrogant US regime, they seem to be anxious, and they are not allowed to sign new financial contracts (with Iran)."

Stressing that this will put extra burden on the government shoulders, Ebrahimi added: "Iranian people ask the government to make its position crystal clear vis-a-vis the JCPOA, and it has to determine how long it takes the EU to fulfill its obligations. We need a definite date for Europe to honour its commitments under the JCPOA. How long should Iran wait for Europe to honour its promises under the deal?"
